With the upcoming launch of Warner Bros. Discovery’s brand-new streaming service Max in Hong Kong, Max will be available via Now TV from November 19, 2024. For current Now TV Western Movie Pack subscribers with HBO GO entitlements, they will have Max entitlements from November 19 and onwards. That means, Now TV subscribers with Western Movie Pack, can access to content previously available on HBO Go on-demand service or HBO Go App via Max, with no change to their current subscription fees. Kindly note that HBO GO, both video-on-demand and app, will cease its service on the same date.

When will Max be available in Hong Kong? Will Max be available on Now TV?

According to recent announcement by Warner Bros Discovery, Max will be available in Southeast Asia, Taiwan and Hong Kong on 19 November 2024. Now TV is also launching a new Western Signature Pack, which includes the Max on-demand service and streaming app, 5 HBO channels, and a series of internationally renowned live channels and on-demand services. This pack offers subscribers a diverse array of high-quality entertainment, featuring Hollywood blockbuster movies, groundbreaking TV series, iconic hits, family and kids programmes. I am a Now TV Subscriber; can I enjoy Max? When Max launches, what will happen with my HBO GO account? Is HBO GO becoming Max?

On-demand Service – Max and Max, the streaming app will be available to existing Now TV customers with Western Movie or Western Signature Pack from 19 November 2024, without affecting the current subscription fees.
Your viewing experience of HBO channels (Ch111-115) on the Now TV App and Now TV set-top box will remain unaffected by the launch of Max.
This is a service enhancement, which means you can look forward to enjoying more high-quality programmes than ever before, without affecting the current subscription fees. Your viewing experience on Now TV App or set-top box will be unaffected.
Currently, you may still access to HBO GO content via HBO GO on-demand service and its streaming app. From 19 November 2024, you may find previously available on HBO GO on-demand service on Max.

How to activate the Max App?

Sign in with your Now ID and password at https://www.nowtv.now.com/nowtv-max, then click on “Activate Max Account” to be directed to the Max website. Follow the instructions on the Max website to complete the activation process.
