【Now Studio】A great drama from
New Zealand. ‘Dark City: The Cleaner’
Gets a Thumbs Up From DoDo Cheng!
by P.Siu
“I didn’t expect New Zealand dramas to be so good!” Do姐 (Do Do Cheng) recently recommended the series “Dark City: The Cleaner” on her Commercial Radio programme “When I Was Young I Listen To The Radio”, highlighting its fresh feel. This 6-episode mini-series is a captivating watch. The first two episodes are incredibly suspenseful and surprising. What’s interesting is that her co-hosts (Alton Yue and Kit Chu) were shocked by it. Why? Was it a “shock” that was shocking? We won’t spoil it here, but Cheng’s description really hit the mark. Feel free to revisit the programme and then directly watch it on Now Studio. All six episodes of Season 1 are now available.

They say the most dangerous place is often the safest. Enter Joe, a cunning serial killer who cleverly infiltrates the police station as a cleaner to “gather intelligence,” all while mingling with the detectives hunting him day and night. But things take a twist when this famous killer attracts a cheeky imitator. However, Joe keeps going on his killing spree. Just as he’s about to target an unsuspecting young woman, he runs into a tough opponent—someone smarter and more ruthless than he ever expected. The hunter quickly becomes the hunted. This sharp young woman gives Joe a scary ultimatum: he must find the copycat within two days—or face serious consequences…
