Beware of scammers posing as the company to steal bank information
Recently, scammers have impersonated telecom company employees, claiming overdue fees to steal bank or credit card information. We emphasize that we will never ask for this info over the phone. Remember the following tips to avoid scams:
– When customer service rep calls, you can request their employee ID via the verified SEM sender ‘#NowTV’ or official WhatsApp to verify their identity.
– We will never ask customers for personal bank or credit card info over the phone due to overdue payments. Ample grace periods will be provided for in-store payments. Customers are also advised to log into ‘My HKT’ app to check their payment methods.
– If in any doubt, call customer service at 1000 or WhatsApp suspicious info to Anti-Fraud Support hotline at 6800 0123 to verify!
